Fossils

This project was a artistic reproduction of sculptures done by Cyproit artist, Giorgos Gerontides. The name really came from how peices of this project were lost in the kiln. The piecing together of this project (and the fact it looks like a dinosaur) reminded me of archeology. A pattern mat was pressed into the clay to give it an rocky texture. Glaze was applied lightly to allow the some of the base clay color to shine through.
